Biography
For two years, Allison Brennan worked by day in the California State Capitol and wrote every night after her kids went to bed in pursuit of her life-long dream of becoming a writer. Her dream was realized when she sold THE PREY to Ballantine in early 2004. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of seven full-length novels and a handful of short stories, Allison writes at Starbucks and local restaurants while her kids are at school and serves as chauffeur and mom-of-all-trades to her five kids after three in the afternoon.
Balancing home and work is not easy, but it never is for working moms and Allison considers herself lucky that she’s able to call it quits in time to pick up the kids from school—though when on deadline, she finds herself back at her keyboard late at night.
Allison’s suspense novels leave the reader with a sense of hope and justice when her protagonists find love in our violent world. Though Allison writes dark and gritty romantic thrillers complete with serial killers, mass murderers, and the worst man can do to man, she leads a rather normal, boring life in Northern California where for fun she plays video games with the kids (and by herself), goes wine tasting with her husband and friends, watched classic movies, catches up on crime dramas, and listens to classic rock. She’s a member of Romance Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, and International Thriller Writers. She’s currently the president of the Published Author Special Interest Chapter (PASIC), affiliated with RWA, and actively volunteers in ITW.
